Magento plugin 1.2: Powerful email marketing for e-tailers

Copernica Marketing Software has released a new version of their Magento plugin. The Magento plugin 1.2 was developed in cooperation with Realvine. Next to the existing features from the previous version, several improvements and expansions have been added to the plugin. This enables the Magento e-tailer to conduct powerful email marketing more easily using the marketing software.

The existing features include:


  • Automatic synchronization of contact and order data
  • Composing relevant offers within emailings based on earlier purchases
  • Scheduling automated emailings to follow up abandoned shopcarts
  • Keep track of website traffic from email campaigns by using the extensive statistics

The improvements offer several possibilities for segmentation and personalization in email marketing activities:


  • All status changes are synchronized between the Magento platform and Copernica. These changes include subscriptions, clients, orders and shopcarts.
  • Newsletter registrations are fully synchronized and adjustments are saved. Only the initial registrations were stored previously. Other profile changes weren’t saved and executed. As of now, this does happen.
  • Existing shopcarts are also synhronized. These were not included in the synchronization of the two platforms before.  As of now, these are synchronized enabling easier segmentation.
  • The collection containing the products has been split up. It is divided into ‘items in the shopcart’ and ‘ordered items’. This facilitates the creation of selections and personalization.
  • Products removed from the shopcart will not be removed from the Copernica database. These products will receive a special status which allows a user to set up selections based on that status.
  • An XML-feed with product information has been created. This makes personalization based on product information a lot easier. Another XML-feed containing new products was also created. This enables e-tailers to personalize their campaigns based on their new products.
  • Unsubscribing customers now happens bi-directional. Copernica’s application informs the Magento installation using a callback. The uplink is automatically set up when configuring the plugin.
  • Options, categories and attributes can also be synchronized.
  • The new version of the plugin processes every order. Large amounts of orders were not processed well in the previous version blocking a part of the orders. This has been corrected in the new version.
