Define target groups with selections
Define your target groups in Copernica by creating your own selections in your database. These selections are created based on selection conditions. A profile is included in a selection when it complies to the preset conditions. You can also use sub-selections and miniselections to further define and specify your target group.
Here are some of the conditions you can use with Copernica to create selections:

Field:
Check whether a field contains a specified value.
Example: Create a selection that checks the field ‘Location’ on the value ‘London’. The selection will contain all profiles that are based in London.

Interest:
Is an interest field checked or unchecked.
Example: Create a selection based on the area of expertise of an organization. For example ‘Leisure’ or ‘Automotive’.

Date:
Compare the stored date with a specified date.
Example: Create a selection that will contain the profiles of organizations you met during a seminar on a specific date.

Campaign results:
Create a selection based on the results of your e-mailings, mobile campaigns, surveys or sent fax documents.
Example: Create a selection that contains all profiles that did not open your last emailing.

Checks when you contacted your relation (for example Phone call, meeting or e-mail).
Example: Create a selection that contains the relations whom you had phone calls with during a certain time range.

Mini-selection content:
Checks data on the collection level (subprofile data).
Example: Create a selection based on a mini-selection containing all contacts who would like to receive your newsletter.
Combine selection conditions with Copernica
Specify your selection even further by combining several conditions. You are able to make this combination of conditions based on AND-rules and OR-rules.
- AND-rule: The selection must comply to all set conditions.
- OR-rule: The selection must comply to at least one of the set conditions.
Dynamic selections help maintain relevance
Selections which are created in Copernica are dynamic selections. This means that a selection is always up-to-date. It automatically tracks and follows changes within your database. The marketing software will check if all (sub)profiles still comply to your selection each time you send a new emailing.
