Import and export
Fill out your profiles with contact data after creating and setting up your database. Collect your contact data with the help of different marketing channels such as email or your website. Copernica allows you to enrich your profiles by importing existing data files. Export contact data from a database or selection for further analysis or use in other CRM systems.
Import your contact data
You are able to import existing data files into Copernica in just a few steps. When importing data into a new database, Copernica uses the existing column names to create fields in the new database. When updating an existing database, Copernica checks the column names in the import file. After your confirmation it saves the information in the correct database fields. It is possible to create a new field upon importing if an existing database does not contain a field that matches the field in the import file.
Export a database or selection
You can export all contact data from your Copernica database to a tab-delimited Excel file. Other formats of an export file are a comma delimited or semicolon-delimited file. It's possible to export the complete database or only selected database fields or selected contact profiles. For clear organization purposes, the export file also contains the database field names. Use the exported files for further analysis or future use with other CRM systems. Export your selected contact data from Copernica to your computer, to email or to any other location on the internet (FTP).
Automated import and export
It is possible to automate the import and export of your data using Copernica. Use the application to perform an automated import or export on a daily/weekly/monthly or annual basis.Import
Start setting up your automated import by indicating the location where the software can retrieve your data. This can be a standard location on your computer or a webbased location (HTTP, HTTPS, FTP or FTPS). Make sure the data that will be imported is stored as a tab-delimited file! When using a faulty format, Copernica will not be able to upload the file and will send you a warning.
After you have indicated the location of your data, set the interval at which Copernica needs to conduct the import. In the tab 'Interval' within the dialog 'Import and export data' you can easily set how frequently the import has to be performed.
Export
You can also schedule an automated export of data using Copernica. Choose between an automated export to an FTP-location or have the export sent to a designated email address. The file can be created in txt- or xls-format for Excel or in XML-format. Like the import, it is possible to determine whether you want the export to be performed on a daily, weekly, monthly or annual basis. Using the export filter-function you can instruct the application to only export the (sub)profiles that have been created since your last export.
Exchange data automatically with SOAP API
Do you use your own CMS-, CRM-system or online webshop? Copernica's powerful SOAP API and integrations enable you automate the exchange of data.By synchronizing the data between Copernica and your external application, you won’t have to constantly import new data into Copernica and vice versa. Both systems will both be “in sync” automatically. Copernica has recently introduced the possibility to set callback URL’s. This way Copernica automatically informs your external application of the changes made in your database or profiles.
