Creating your own database

You are free to create a database customized to your own needs and goals. Every database consists of profiles who in turn consist of collections that contain subprofiles. You determine which contact information you store under which profiles. Once the database is created you may add as much data and profilles as you like.

Various field types

You are able to create an unlimited number of database fields in Copernica. Your contact data can be stored in different field types. When creating your database it can contain the following field types:

• Text field
• Numeric field
• Multiple choice field
• Date field
• Email field
• Phone number field
• Large text field

Interest fields can also be added to your database. This type of field allows you to add a certain interest or preference to a profile. For example use this field to appoint an organization’s area of expertise.

Create a Multi-dimensional database

All information of a single contact, like a company or a person, is called a profile. But you could very well be one of several contacts from that one single company. Such information is stored in a collection of subprofiles. A collection is a subcollection of data on your relations, related to your profile. Subprofiles contain a subset of information on a contact and are always linked to a specific profile. A company in your database may have an infinite number of employees each of which has its personal data in a subprofile.
